Monterrey aquarium shots. I have no idea who the kid in the left-side photo is. He totally ruined our shoot.

Greg took us sailing on San Francisco Bay. Our companion was Delphine.
(Greg's friends Alphonse, Thiérry and Hørst could not make it)

Photos from the drive from S.F. to L.A. Finding elephant seals frolicking around on the beach north of San Simenon was a big highlight. The one on the left wanted to attack me.

Dinner with Beth Fishman in L.A. John Cusak and Donny Most were at the next table.

The stars outside Mann's Chinese Theatre. Jen and I each picked our favourite Hollywood heroes for these shots

scali06.jpg (12668 bytes)
Silicon Valley. Palo Alto to be precise. Yep -- this is all there is to SV -- just a bunch of grubby low-slung office buildings and generic fast-food restaurants, hotels and gas stations. What a god-dammed dump.

The lazy seals of SF's Pier 39 -- a bright spot in what is otherwise SF's tackiest tourist area

a005.jpg (19569 bytes)

Hapy, happy, happy, happy, happy ...

a006.jpg (13776 bytes)

Cool Haight-Ashbury window display

Jon and Greg perform the watermelon ceremony

a011.jpg (14115 bytes)

Statue in S.F.'s Yerba Buena Gardens. Now, how many tourists think of this imaginative shot? Yeah: Not many.

a012.jpg (17394 bytes)

Jesse Zeifman showed us the Mission and Castro sections of SF

a013.jpg (25949 bytes)

Right next to the Luna Park restaurant in the Mission is Ralph Nader's campaign headquarters, The mishmash of left-wing causes advertized on the tack-up board outside the office illustrates the fractured, confused state of today's left-wing. (This is where Greg receives his marching orders, by the way.) Take a good look at the causes publicized here: Abu Jamal, anti-genetic-foods, anti-Iraqi scantions, pro-Yoga, etc. It's like someone made a collage depicting every one of America's loser causes.

After leaving San Francisco, we drove down the California coast to Hollywood. This is Jen in front of the Bates Motel set at Universal Studios

a017.jpg (13069 bytes)

Jen joins the Apollo mission. What's that, Jen? Why, thumbs up must mean "all systems go!" All right!
