Jen on the Hollywood boardwalk just next to the strip's best pizzeria

A truck we got stuck behind on Biscayne Boulevard.

Took this shot during a boat tour of Fort Lauderdale (the "Venice of America"). Some of the canal-front mansions were pretty spectacular. According to our tour guide, this one was featured several times in Miami Vice -- invariably as the bad guy's house.

The Octopus: At 413 feet in length, this is the largest private yacht in the world. (For a list of the top 100, click here.) The owner is Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, who also owns the Portland Trailblazers. Ironic fact: The ship is so big that Allen can't get the thing into Fort Lauderdale's private marinas, which means he has to park his ultimate luxury watercraft at the far less genteel wharfs typically reserved for cargo vessels and cruise ships.

To give you an idea of what prime canal-front property goes for in Fort Lauderdale, this patch of dirt is selling for US$8.9-million.

Former home of Lee Majors. He sold it to raise money for his divorce settlement. The tour guide told me that Majors once made out with Farrah Fawcett in this place. True story.

Outside our modest 2-story Hollywood hotel, The Greenbriar.

A visit with my cousin Bruno in Coconut Grove

Display window at a T-shirt shop. And these were among the more tasteful selections.

Either the guy doesn't know how to spell "Hey" -- or he's German and he dropped the "L"

Took this one at IHOP while waiting for my breakfast sampler. As you can see, the architecture cramped my style a bit.
